George is a relatively new arrival to the Antipodes. In fact, coming from America he didn't even know what the word meant until he read it branded on a bottle of water in New Zealand.

He has since discovered that the antipode of where he originally comes from is about 1000km southwest of Perth. But let's not go there.

George's role at Cerebos is to orchestrate the process by which we break out of an historical 'softly softly' approach to growth. Perhaps appropriately, this requires turning some of our traditional assumptions and approaches on their heads. Being a generalist from a management consulting background, George has not found it difficult to surround himself with people who are miles better at what they do than he would be. He places a strong emphasis on both action and learning, and he expects managers to be accountable not only for 'doing the day job', but also for developing their teams and themselves as professionals.

When not at work, George enjoys doing a variety of projects around the house with his wife and daughter, such as planting vegetables in the garden and managing the current list of renovations. He also enjoys photography, classical music, and most recently, training for a half marathon. Cricket and rugby remain mysteries yet to be understood.
